This doesn’t mean there aren’t any advantages that come with hiring employees instead of independent contractors. By avoiding these costs and responsibilities by using independent contractors, companies like Uber and Lyft can make far more money than if they followed a traditional employer-employee worker arrangement with their drivers. ![]()
